FAQs on Dwellsy Verification

Is verification mandatory?

You aren’t required to get verified to list on Dwellsy. Applying for verification is an optional step you can take to prove to the world that your listings are legitimate. It’s a way to enhance your reputation on Dwellsy, where thousands of potential tenants can see your listings every day.

Who should get verified by Dwellsy?

The verification process can benefit both independent landlords listing through Dwellsy Direct as well as property management companies of all sizes, looking to enhance their reputation on Dwellsy by going through an additional verification so that they can have a verified badge displayed on their properties.

Why is there a fee to get verified?

Dwellsy incurs a cost to review every application. To keep listings free, we charge a fee to cover the cost of verification. Verification is always optional. You only pay if you want the “verified” badge.

What do you need to know to verify me?

After you submit payment, you’ll get a link to a short survey. The questions are simple, and you’ll be able to answer in just a few minutes. You don’t need to submit any special paperwork. We only ask for information that we need to verify your identity, role, and the credibility of your property management company (if you're a company).

What happens if my application isn’t approved?

We are committed to a 100% fair and transparent application process. If we have any questions, we’ll reach out to you directly. You will have an opportunity to provide any additional information required.t’s in our mutual best interest that every individual landlord and professional property manager gets verified, and we’ll do our best to make that happen.

Why isn’t verification instant?

Instant verification would be fantastic! But, we’d rather be sure that every verified listing is trustworthy. That’s why a Dwellsy team member personally verifies each application.  Don’t worry, though. Once you submit your fee and information, you’ll hear from us within seven days.

Why don’t other listing sites offer verification as a paid service?

Each site is different, and most don’t offer verification at all. Some wrap the fee for verification into their steep listing fees. Others only offer verification as part of a long-term enterprise contract that costs tens of thousands of dollars. Dwellsy is still the only premium rental platform that lets you list entirely free. We never charge for listings, leads, or leases.

Why is verification important to tenants?

Listing fraud is a real risk. In a recent survey conducted by Dwellsy with renters across the country, one in five respondents told us they had personally experienced listing fraud and two in five respondents said they have a close friend or family member who has experienced rental fraud. The average personal loss reported in the survey was over $2,800.

Tenants who are concerned about fraud prefer reputable listing sites like Dwellsy. Often, they also want additional reassurance and look for the Verified badge.
